Tuesday the 22, visit the Clarkesville Library at 10:30 a.m. for Tall Tails during the library’s summer reading program. Join the library and Smithgall Woods’ Kathy Church to learn all about animals! If you’re closer to the Big Red Apple, at 11:00 a.m. the Cornelia Library will host their summer reading program’s Farm Day with a petting zoo.
On the morning of Wednesday the 23, bring kids to the Gainesville Botanical Gardens for Storytime and Smile, where a storyteller will bring magical, nature-inspired fairytales to life. For more information, check out their website here.
At 10 a.m. or 7 p.m. on Thursday the 24, catch a showing of “Toy Story 4,” with $1 tickets and concessions at the Historic Ritz Theater in Toccoa for their summer movie series.
Friday afternoon, head down to Gainesville Square for their farmers market, opening at 2:30 p.m.

In Habersham County, the fifth annual Miles Through Time Car Show will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday the 26. Come to Clarkesville for cars, vendors, antiques, music and more! Visit the Miles Through Time Museum website for more information.
In White County, start your Saturday bright and early at Freedom Park in Cleveland for the White County Farmers Market. The market opens up at 7:30 a.m. with fresh produce, local honey, baked goods and all your farm-to-home needs. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., visit the Sautee Nacoochee Center for Heritage Day, during which visitors can learn about the history of Northeast Georgia and the African-Americans who contributed to the region’s culture.
In Stephens, enjoy another Saturday evening of soulful blues, booze and food at the Ida Cox Music Series in Downtown Toccoa. Frankie’s Blues Mission will take the stage around 7 p.m.; this event is free for all.
In Towns County, spend your Saturday at the Georgia Mountains Fairgrounds with live music, food and raffles all for a good cause. Visit the Georgia Mountains Fairgrounds website to get your tickets for “Pickin’ for Patton,” an event to support the medical fund for Clarkesville local and banjo player Patton Wages who suffered a stroke in February. The festival starts at 11 a.m. and goes on until 10 p.m..
In Hart County, enjoy an evening of “Pre-Fourth Fireworks” over Lake Hartwell on Saturday. The event begins at 5:30 at the Long Point Recreation Area, and fireworks will shoot off after dark.
