A North Hall middle school agriculture teacher has won the Ideas Unlimited Award for her project on the global agricultural market.

Leigh Vinson Strawbridge was nominated by her peers and eventually won the state-level competition for her project, the Agricultural Supply and Demand Great Food Truck Race. Through this project, students learn by focusing on the supply and demand of agricultural commodities. They apply their knowledge by creating a food truck business and a themed menu.

Students are able to practice employability skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

“Mrs. Strawbridge is doing a fabulous job in our efforts to expose more students to the wide variety of careers available in the field of Agriculture,” says Hall County Schools Director of Communications Stan Lewis.

Strawbridge will travel to San Antonio, Texas, in December to compete at the National NAAE Conference. The competition is sponsored by the National Association of Agriculture Educators.
