North Georgia Tech increases spring semester enrollment

North Georgia Technical College’s spring semester enrollment is up over this time last year Enrollment figures for all three NGTC campuses are up by 2.2%. Currently there are 2,528 students spanning campuses in Clarkesville, Blairsville and Currahee.

“We are pleased more students are looking to us as the place to continue their education,” says NGTC President Dr. Mark Ivester. “I don’t think there is any one thing that I could attest to the increase. I believe our message is getting out about what NGTC does for students and how we help them transfer from being a student to joining the workforce.”

Tuition-free programs still available

NGTC’s tuition is $89 per credit hour, the college says. NGTC also offers tuition-free programs through the Hope Career Grant. The grant covered study in over 30 programs including welding, early childhood education, and nursing.

Tuition-free classes are also available to high school students in the dual enrollment program. That program has also seen an increase with 567 students enrolled this semester, according to a press release.

North Georgia Tech covers the cost of tuition, books and most mandatory fees for students in the dual enrollment program. Students can then continue classes at NGTC after graduation or transfer credits to other colleges and universities.
