North Carolina woman faces drug charges after wrecking her vehicle

Cleveland Police reports that a Hayesville, North Carolina woman was arrested Thursday morning on three felony drug charges after she wrecked her vehicle in the city of Cleveland.

Police Chief Jeff Shoemaker said his department received a Be On the Look Out (BOLO) for a PT cruiser that was running people off the road on 115 East coming into the city.

Shoemaker said an officer observed the vehicle and turned around as the car passed Truett McConnell University. Before the officer made contact the driver, identified as Sabrina Nicole Huskins, struck the curb flattening two passenger-side tires.

According to Chief Shoemaker Huskins stopped her vehicle at the real estate office across the street from Dixon Drive.

Shoemaker said she was found to be under the influence and officers located a baggie of narcotics. The officer, according to Shoemaker charged Huskins with, possession of cocaine, possession of meth, possession of fentanyl, all felonies as well as driving under the influence, Failure to Maintain lane, and possession of marijuana.

Chief Shoemaker said, “She was not injured and was transported to the White County Jail.”
