North Carolina woman arrested in drug bust at Rabun County hotel

A continuing crackdown on illegal drugs in Northeast Georgia lands an Asheville, North Carolina woman in jail.

24-year old Keisha Le’Shay Moore was arrested Saturday at a Rabun County hotel.

The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office, Dillard Police Department, Sky Valley Police Department and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) executed a search warrant at the Gateway Inn and Suites in Dillard.

Special Agent in Charge of ARDEO, Mitchell Posey says authorities found  methamphetamine, a stolen handgun and scales in the hotel room. The estimated street value of  the seized narcotics is $300.

He says officers were led to the location by “numerous  complaints to management of heavy traffic.”

Moore is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule IV narcotic (Clonazepam), possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, theft by  receiving stolen property and possession of drug related objects.

She was transported to the Rabun County Detention Center.

Contraband officers say they seized during a search of Keisha Moore’s room at Gateway Inn & Suites in Dillard.

Moore’s arrest is the latest made by ARDEO and its partner agencies which include sheriff’s offices in White, Lumpkin, Towns, Banks, Habersham, Stephens, Rabun and Franklin Counties, along with the Cleveland Police Department, Lavonia Police Department, the Georgia National Guard Counter Drug Task Force, the Department of Public Safety, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
