Nominations now being accepted for inaugural Habersham Central Lifetime Achievement Award

The Habersham Academic Excellence Program Board of Directors has announced the creation of an inaugural Habersham Central Lifetime Achievement Award as a part of the high school’s 50th Anniversary. The purpose of the award is to recognize outstanding professional achievements attained over an extended period of time by a Habersham Central graduate, to highlight the exceptional education provided at Habersham Central, and to inspire current students to aim high and work hard to achieve their goals.

HCHS Principal Jonathan Stribling expressed his excitement about the new award, “I am honored to be part of the creation of the Habersham Central Lifetime Achievement Award. It is a privilege to recognize an alumnus who has achieved local, state and/or national prominence in his or her field.  This recognition will honor the individual, highlight ties to HCHS, and motivate all current Raiders to achieve maximum success.”

Nominees must have received a diploma from Habersham Central and have graduated at least 25 years prior to the year of recognition.

The award will recognize an individual who has had a significant impact at the local, state, and/or national levels. The recipient will be honored during the Class of 2020 graduation ceremony. A photo and professional biography of the recipient will be displayed at Habersham Central.

Superintendent of Schools, Matthew Cooper, stated, “I applaud the Habersham Academic Excellence Program Board of Directors for creating the Habersham Central Lifetime Achievement Award. The creation of this award coincides nicely with the 50th Anniversary of Habersham Central High School.  I look forward to seeing who is recognized as the inaugural winner at the 2020 graduation ceremony!”
