Nominations are now being accepted for this year’s SagerStrong Foundation Hometown Hero Award. The award honors one pediatric leukemia patient annually who embodies what the Foundation stands for perseverance, strength, and, above all, courage.

The program was created in memory of Craig Sager – a Hall of Fame Sportscaster and two-time Emmy Award-winning Broadcaster who died of blood cancer in 2016.

This year’s recipient will again receive a $2500 scholarship to attend the college or trade school of their choice.

Last year’s recipient, Tallulah Falls  School graduate Kale Corbett, was honored at a virtual event due to COVID. The award presentation returns to Atlanta this year. It will be held during the Foundation’s Stadium Fun Run at Truist Park in August.
