
The Georgia State Patrol has released a preliminary report on the rollover wreck in Mt. Airy Tuesday, March 5.
According to the GSP report, at approximately 12:12 p.m., a vehicle was traveling south on Welcome Home Road approaching 838 Welcome Home Road. It exited the roadway and entered the right grass shoulder, then over corrected and crossed the northbound lane entering the northbound right shoulder. The left rear of the vehicle struck a standing mailbox. It then began to overturn while crossing the roadway again before coming to an uncontrolled final rest on the southbound shoulder.
The report states that the driver was not injured.
First responders from Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, Habersham County Fire and EMS, and Mt. Airy Police Department were dispatched shortly after 12 p.m. to Welcome Home Road off of Dicks Hill Parkway in Mt. Airy for the rollover wreck. The accident occurred in front of Blossman Gas Company, blocking the company’s entrance.
The Georgia State Patrol is continuing to investigating the accident.
