A driver escaped injury late Saturday when their car overturned down an embankment off GA 197 north of Clarkesville.
The accident, reported shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 2, happened just north of Shoal Creek Road.

According to deputies, the car left the roadway and rolled down a 20-foot embankment, coming to rest on its wheels. Officials say the driver was not injured.
The accident temporarily tied up traffic on the highway as crews cleared the wreckage. The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the wreck.
