No injuries in morning school bus accident in Clarkesville

The wreck smashed in the front of this Lincoln LKMZ.

Some Habersham County students were delayed getting to school this morning after a car rear-ended their school bus.

The State Patrol says both vehicles were traveling south on GA 17 in Clarkesville shortly after 7 a.m. The bus stopped to pick up a child. The driver of the car directly behind it failed to observe the bus stopping and ran into it, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

34-year-old Kayla Scoggins Bramlett of Clarkesville told the investigating Trooper she was checking on her child in the rear seat when the wreck happened. The accident smashed in the front of the 2014 Lincoln MKZ Bramlett was driving.

65-year-old Sandra Tanksley of Clarkesville was driving the school bus. There were eleven students onboard. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The Trooper ticketed Bramlett for not exercising due care and gave her a warning for following too closely.
