The Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of an early morning blaze in Lula. The fire destroyed a house in the 9300 block of Skitts Mountain Drive. No one was injured.
Around 3:50 a.m. Thursday, July 21, Hall County Fire Rescue responded to the scene and found the house fully engulfed in flames. The residence was approximately 1000 feet from the main road and could only be reached on foot.
“With no apparatus to provide hose lines and with no hydrants visible, the crews contained the fire to prevent potential spreading to the surrounding wooded area,” says Hall County Fire Chief Chris Armstrong.
At the fire department’s request, Georgia Forestry personnel cutting a path around the fire to prevent it from spreading. “The residence was left to burn out,” the Chief says.
