SAUTEE – No one was injured when a truck driver lost control of his vehicle and ran off the road striking a tree and a house on Wednesday in northern White County.
Sgt. Michael Best, Assistant Post Commander with Georgia State Patrol Post 6 in Gainesville said the accident occurred Wednesday, July 13th at just after 9:34 am AT 397 Woodbrier Road north of Deerpath Drive ( in the Skylake Subdivision).
Sgt. Best said a 1988 Freightliner flatbed operated by 48-year-old Tony Lonzo Gooch was traveling south on Woodbrier Road, north of Deerpath Drive negotiating a curve, and failed to maintain its lane of travel. The truck traveled off the right side of the roadway and traveled down an embankment.
The vehicle also struck a tree with its right side, while going down the embankment and then struck the corner of a house at 397 Woodbrier Road.
There were no injuries to the driver or residents of the home.
