NHMS students visit DC

American history comes to life as students travel to Washington D.C.

North Habersham Middle School students took part in an experiential learning opportunity in Washington D.C. this summer.

From June 2-6, 2016, they explored the sights and sounds of our nation’s capital including beautiful monuments, commemorative statues and memorials, and impressive national government centers.

They explored several Smithsonian museums, watched the changing of the guards at Arlington, left flowers at the WWII Memorial, shook hands with and honored multiple veterans, sat in the House Chamber, and even received a behind-the-scenes tour of the Capital.

Trip organizers say it was “inspiring” to see students engage with their own American history and expand their world views as they made memories of a lifetime.
