NGTC Offers GED Prep Classes in Habersham

North Georgia Technical College is offering GED classes at the Goodwill Career Center in Cornelia and the NGTC Clarkesville campus Clegg Building.

Clarkesville campus times are 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., Mondays-Thursdays, and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Goodwill Career Center class times are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday – Thursday.

“There is no better time than now to take the one step that can change your life forever, and it can start by visiting the GED classroom at the NGTC Adult Learning Center,” says Shelby Ward, dean of adult education at NGTC.  “Our instructors Sandra Adair and Kay Chitwood are ready to help you get your GED, earn your Georgia Best certificate, prepare for college, and get a job. Classes are free, and each student will receive his or her own customized education plan.”

“We are so glad we can provide this great opportunity in Habersham County,” Ward says.  “Sandra and Kay are dedicated to helping students achieve their goals.”

Last year, more than 19,000 adult learners earned their GED diploma. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, a person with a high school or GED credential earns $10,000 more per year than a non-high school graduate. The income level increases substantially more for those who go on to complete a college certificate, diploma or degree program.
