(GAINESVILLE, Ga.) – Applications are open until October 14 for the 2020 ‘Lead Forward’ Nonprofit Executive Coaching Program at the North Georgia Community Foundation. This 12-month peer-based learning program offers monthly group and individual sessions where leaders gain tools and skills necessary for personal and professional development to improve their organization.
‘Lead Forward’ is one of the many educational and leadership training opportunities provided as part of the Growing Roots of Wisdom (G.R.O.W.) program at NGCF. G.R.O.W. was established in 2018 with support from MBA students at the University of North Georgia Mike Cottrell College of Business. ‘Lead Forward’ graduated it’s inaugural class in 2018 with a group of Hall County non-profit leaders: Michelle Prater; North Georgia Community Foundation; Jamie Reynolds, SISU; Joy Griffin, formerly with United Way of Hall County; Steven Mickens, Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier; Jessica Butler, Gateway Domestic Violence Center and Kay Blackstock, Georgia Mountain Food Bank. At the end of this year, six additional non-profit leaders from across North Georgia will graduate the program.
Taking the time to develop fresh insight on communication methods, working with boards and staff and investing in leadership development is an important key to success. As Jessica Butler praised, ‘This program helped me enhance my management skills and learn alongside other non-profit leaders in the community. It was a great experience!’
There is limited space available for the 2020 Class of ‘Lead Forward.’ This program is application only and more information can be found online at www.ngcf.org/grow.
