White County Family Connection is gearing up to relaunch a program that will have the potential to impact several White County students.

Family Connection has just been awarded a $12,000 grant from the North Georgia Community Foundation (NGCF) for a student mentoring program.

Abi Carter, Director of Strategic Initiatives for NGCF, says this is part of a multi-purpose funding initiative.

“They are one of four recipients throughout North Georgia and this is a part of our opportunities grant program which is to recognize new or expanding programs throughout North Georgia,” Carter said.

White County Family Connection Director Nanette Baughman accepted the funding check and said it would go a long way to get the program launched.

“We are excited about this opportunity to be able to expand and create a new program that’s going to be beneficial to students of White County,” said Baughman.

Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit in good standing located in North Georgia to be eligible for NGCF Community Grants.
