(Cleveland)- Cell phone coverage is expected to be enhanced greatly in the southern part of White County following the approval Monday by the White County Board of Commissioners to allow Verizon Wireless to construct a 180 ft communication tower, just off U.S. Highway 129.
According to Verizon representative Jenna Lee, the new tower will enable them to, ” strengthen, significantly coverage in the area.”
The new tower will be located on Cobb Vantress Drive adjacent to the county industrial park.
Lee told the commissioners the tower will also allow for three additional carriers to co-locate there.
Construction on the tower is expected to begin this year.
