Nadine Alexander Childs, age 82 of Clarkesville, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 12, 2017.
Born in the Chicopee Community of Hall County, Georgia on October 04, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Frank Alexander & Inez Shockley Alexander. Mrs. Childs was a retired decorative artist and was a member of the Torch Worship Center in Demorest.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Childs, sisters, Juanita Campbell & Frances Woodall.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie & Pam Wade of Demorest, Rodney & Andrea Staton of Spokane, Washington, Tracy & Susan Staton of Flowery Branch; sister & brother-in-law, JoAnn & Gene Powell of Hoover, AL; grandchildren, Sarah Staton Tachell & Adam Tachell of Davenport, Washington; Matthew Wade of Gainesville, GA; Daniel & Alicia Staton of Spokane, Washington; Joshua Wade of Gainesville, GA; Abigail Staton Reeves & Jeremy Reeves of Braselton, GA; Amy Staton Pruchnic & Ramsey Pruchnic of Spokane, Washington; Rebekah Staton of Cumming, GA; 5 great-grandsons, 2 great-granddaughters, several nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Franklin and Mrs. Staci Pealock officiating. Interment will follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations be made to the Torch Worship Center, Children’s Building Ministry or to the Torch Worship Center, Haiti Campus Restoration.
