Free N-95 mask distribution to begin Friday in Northeast Georgia

The Biden administration will free up 400 million N95 masks from the government's Strategic National Stockpile to give away free to people through pharmacies and health centers.

400 million N-95 masks are in the process of being shipped to regional retail pharmacies in the United States under the Biden Administration’s initiative to provide Americans with free masks.

The N-95 mask is regarded as the best mask for keeping the transmission of the COVID-19 virus low, and will be available to individuals at no cost. Stores should have masks in stock by early February, with many receiving them by Friday, Jan. 28.

N-95 masks will be available at many retail stores that have offered the COVID-19 vaccine. Some of those retail locations in the Northeast Georgia region include:

  • CVS: Dates unknown, by early February
  • Ingles: Dates unknown
  • Kroger: Available Friday
  • Publix: Dates unknown, by early February
  • Walgreens: Available Friday
  • Walmart: Available Friday

These retail locations will have masks available at the front of the store and are limited to three masks per person.
