
Myrtle Cribbs Swayze Creamer, age 80, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025.
Mrs. Creamer was born on March 31, 1944, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Joseph Washington Cribbs and Ina Wilkinson Cribbs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Huey Edward “Bill” Swayze, Sr.; second husband, William P. “Bill” Creamer; brothers, J.W. Cribbs, Corney Cribbs, J.D. Cribbs, Wayne Cribbs; sisters, Vertus Shoemate, Joyce Polings, and Linda Sue Mincks. Myrtle was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Myrtle was of the Christian Faith and had attended Harmony Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading her bible daily and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her son, Huey Edward Swayze, Jr., of Charlotte, TN; grandchildren, Jimmie Swayze, Cassidy Swayze, and Zach Swayze; great-grandchildren, Mary Kate Swayze, Brantley Swayze, and Kaydance Swayze; as well as a brother-in-law, Dennis Mincks, of Alto; and numerous nieces and nephews who considered Myrtle a “Grandma” to them.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment will follow in the Roselane Cemetery in Toccoa, Georgia.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the funeral home prior to the service.
