Myra Sue Carlan Bohannon, age 76 of Demorest, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021.
Born in Clarkesville, Georgia, on December 13, 1944, she was a daughter of the late John William Carlan and Lila Magnolia Nix Carlan. Mrs. Bohannon was a seamstress and caretaker. She loved caregiving and enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everyone that knew Mrs. Bohannon loved her, and she loved them. She never met a stranger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Linda Abernathy, Manolia Bowden, and Jo Ann Taylor.
Surviving are her husband, Dewaine Bohannon of Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Toby & Daphne Bohannon of Clarkesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam & Jon Campbell of Demorest and Kelly & Chip Duncan of Cornelia; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Carlan of Demorest; sister, Arlene Whiting of Demorest; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2 pm, Thursday, May 13, 2021, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart, with Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
