Murder suspect turned over to Rabun County after investigation reveals death occurred there

A Bartow County woman arrested for murder in Northwest Georgia is now jailed in Rabun County in connection to that crime. Authorities arrested April Sue Tate, 36, of Adairsville, two weeks ago after a man was found dead in Resaca.

On December 16, the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office turned over Tate to Rabun County deputies after investigators determined Mark Kenneth Freese died in their jurisdiction. The case will now proceed in Rabun County.

Freese, 65, of Cartersville, was found dead inside a vehicle at a Resaca residence on December 3. Authorities arrested Tate at the scene and later charged her with murder and aggravated assault, the Calhoun Times reports.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was asked to help investigate. Following witness statements, law enforcement executed a search warrant. GBI agents and Gordon County detectives took several items for evidence, including a weapon believed to have been involved in the man’s death.

Tate, who also goes by the alias Aglesi Suunuke Yillishi according to jail records, was transferred to Northeast Georgia on December 16. She was booked at the Rabun County Jail on a felony murder charge.
