Law enforcement officials say five recent shootings in Hart County may be gang-related. Hart County Sheriff Mike Cleveland says all of the incidents are under investigation.
According to a sheriff’s office news release, three shootings happened Sunday inside Hartwell city limits. The Hartwell Police Department is investigating those incidents.
Sheriff’s investigators are looking into another Sunday shooting that happened on Scott Towne Drive in which multiple rounds were fired. They’re also investigating a shooting on Pearl Road off Hodges Mill Road that happened on Friday, July 26.
Cleveland says authorities have reason to believe the shootings are tied to gang activity. Investigators are asking for the public’s help in gathering information.
