Habersham EMS transported a Mt. Airy woman to the hospital following a wreck on GA 365.

The crash occurred on August 1 around 10:45 a.m. just north of the Hwy. 441 Bypass.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, Janet Franklin, 63, was driving a Nissan Sentra sedan north on GA 365, negotiating a curve in the left lane. The Nissan traveled off the left shoulder of the highway.

The Georgia State Patrol report says Franklin “overcorrected and the Nissan then traveled across both northbound lanes.” The vehicle rotated clockwise, traveled off the right shoulder of GA 365, and struck a guardrail.

An ambulance transported Franklin to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with possible minor injuries, according to the state patrol.

The investigating state trooper charged her with failure to maintain lane.
