The Mt. Airy Town Council held its first public hearing to opt out of HB 581 at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 12. The public hearing lasted less than one minute. No citizens attended the public hearing.
Local governments must hold three public hearings to prior to opting out of HB 581.
The next public hearing for Mt. Airy will be held also Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. It will be held at Mt. Airy Town Hall located at 1231 Dicks Hill Parkway in Mt. Airy.
