Charges are pending against a Clayton woman who state troopers say failed to yield and ran into a motorcyclist, killing him. The fatal crash happened Sunday, Oct. 29, on GA 15/US 441 in Mountain City.
According to the Georgia State Patrol accident report, 69-year-old Sara Youngblood was driving a Ford Explorer, attempting to turn left. She failed to yield and struck a Harley FLHX driven by 38-year-old Nathanael Vanesse of Canon, Ga.
The impact of the crash ejected Vanesse from the bike, fatally injuring him.
Emergency personnel transported Youngblood to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for treatment of possible minor injuries.
Troopers from Post 7 in Toccoa are investigating the crash. The state patrol’s Troop B Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) is assisting with that investigation.
