Family and friends today are mourning the loss of a Demorest man who was killed in a motorcycle crash late Monday night.

55-year-old Stacy Marks Black died when the 2002 Harley Davidson he was driving ran off the road and down an embankment on GA-17 Alternate at Black Mountain Road. “Mr. Black was ejected from his motorcycle and died immediately at the scene as a result of blunt force injuries sustained in the crash,” says Habersham County Coroner Kasey McEntire.

The accident happened around 9:13 p.m. and no other vehicles were involved, according to TFC Ben Cheek of Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa. GSP has not indicated what may have caused Black to lose control.

Black was the fianceé of WCON radio personality Kathy Nicholson.

The fatal crash happened less than a mile from where a Toccoa businessman was killed in a two-vehicle crash back on February 24.
