Authorities say alcohol may have played a part in the death of a motorcyclist killed in a collision on Sutton Mill Road in Clarkesville Thursday night.
According to the Georgia State Patrol Public Information Office, 35-year old Bobby Lee Brown of Clarkesville was driving a 1996 Honda CR250R west on Sutton Mill negotiating a curve. A 2001 Chevrolet Silverado was rounding a curve on the same road going east. As the Honda entered the curve it began traveling towards the double yellow line and skidded across the roadway. The Chevy came to a stop with its right front on the edge of the road. The Honda struck the front of the Chevy.
Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. The State Patrol says alcohol use is suspected.
The driver of the truck, 47-year old Clark Murphy of Clarkesville was not injured.
