Motorcyclist injured in crash near Tom Arrendale interchange

A motorcyclist escaped serious injury when his bike crashed into a guardrail at the Tom Arrendale interchange near Clarkesville Thursday afternoon.

State troopers were dispatched to the wreck just before 3 p.m.

According to a preliminary crash report, the biker was driving a BMW R110RT south on the GA 365 on-ramp from Hwy. 17 when he ran off the road.

“The driver was able to lay down the motorcycle and separate before it struck the guardrail,” the report states.

Troopers identified the biker as 64-year-old Randall Gordon of Pensacola, Florida. He was taken by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with apparent minor injuries.
