Toccoa police charged a woman with reckless conduct after she allegedly locked her son inside a house full of bug spray. Police found the boy at a bedroom window, gasping for air.
Officers made the disturbing discovery on June 18 after being called to the home on Valley Drive in reference to a poisoning call.
According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, officers had to make forced entry into the home because the boy was in distress. Police removed the juvenile from the home and turned him over to emergency services personnel. An ambulance transported him to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for treatment.
The juvenile told police that his mother, Susan White, had set off several bug bombs in the residence and had locked him inside, says Mize.
Police later secured warrants for White’s arrest. They took her into custody and booked her at the Stephens County Jail.
