(Cleveland)- State School Superintendent Richard Woods visited Mossy Creek Elementary School Tuesday to present the school with the 2017 Family Friendly Partnership Award and personally congratulate them. The Family-Friendly Partnership program encourages schools, families, and communities to work together to create welcoming environments that lead to increased student achievement.
Mossy Creek was chosen from 20 finalists in the state and was one of only five, out of the thousands of schools in the state, to receive the award.
Superintendent Woods during his talk to the students, teachers, and parents, listed some of areas that the school went beyond the normal to earn the award he also said, “this is an award that isn’t easy to get, it’s something that has to be duly earned.”
White County Board of Education Chairman Missy Jarrard said it makes her proud see the school receive this award ” it’s so important and so inspiring to know we’ve got a school like Mossy Creek who is extending their arms out to the community and saying you are here and you are welcome here and we are going to work together to give your children the best education possible. I could not be more impressed or proud.”
