Monica Rena Brown, 38 of Clarkesville, Georgia transitioned home on Friday June 15, 2018 after several years of sickness. She always kept her smile through all she has endured. Born on November 4, 1979 in Demorest, Georgia to the Parents of Joseph (Joe) and Debra Brown. She is preceded in death by her sister Tomeka Brown, her Grandfather’s William F. Orsborn and Earl Gober.
Monica worked for several years as a Supervisor for McDonald’s as well as a Bookkeeper at Ingles. She really enjoyed Coaching Basketball at the Habersham County Recreation Department. Most of all she enjoyed spending her time with her kids and family. She was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church
She also leaves to cherish her life her Parents, 1 sister Michelle Hernandez of Cornelia, Georgia; her 2 kids Joseph Brown and Janiah Brown also of the home. Her Grandmothers Martha Bell Orsborn and Betty Gober both of Cornelia, Georgia, Mary Walker of Atlanta, Georgia; her Great Uncles / Aunt’s: Layfette (Jean) Gober of Cornelia, Georgia & Irvin(Pam) Gober, Sandra(Bruce) Benson, Gainesville, Georgia. Cora (Jim) Duvall of Atlanta, Georgia. Aunt’s & Uncles: Ruth King, Carrie Ann (Curtis) Gibson, Freddie Mattox, James Orsborn all of Cornelia, Georgia, Felicia (George) Doyle, Greg (Regina) Gober, Gainesville, Georgia, James (Tiffany) Gober of Cornelia, Georgia, Kevin Walker of Atlanta, Georgia, Bobby (Eureka) Gober of Toccoa, Georgia. She was blessed with a host of cousins and dear friends and nieces and nephews that cherished her life.
Though God had a different plan for you our Angel, we will miss you but we are thankful for your life that we were Blessed to share. Rest easy Beautiful.
Homegoing services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Ann Nicely, Bishop Ernest Burns, Rev. Greg Gober, & Rev. Billy Joe Jenkins, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Greater Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018.
