The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a weekend burglary at the Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center in Clarkesville. The building was broken into sometime between 3 p.m. Saturday, June 24, and 9:30 a.m. Sunday, June 25, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the scene at 120 Paul Franklin Road Sunday morning. “Upon arrival, deputies discovered that several doors on the outside and inside of the building had been forced open,” says Sheriff’s Lt. Matthew Wurtz. “Deputies also observed that several cabinets and drawers in the business office of the Recreation Department and Total Fitness Center had been broken into.”
Interviews with the recreation department’s assistant manager and Total Fitness manager revealed money was missing. An undetermined amount of damage was also done to doors and door jams during the forced entry.
