Miriam Gillespie Shore, age 92 of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017.
Born in Banks County, Georgia on June 29, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Ed “C.E.” Gillespie & Cornelia Britts Davison Gillespie.
Miriam was retired from Belk Department Store after 33 years of dedicated service. She loved her family most of all, spending time working in her yard, and reading. Miriam was a faithful giver to others and was of the Congregational Holiness Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn P. Shore, as well as nine brothers & sisters.
Mrs. Shore was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include her children: Ken & Beth Shore, Ed & Nancy Shore all of Cornelia, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Glenda Doster George & Billy George of Conyers, GA; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, & many friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Brent Lord officiating. Interment will follow in the Baldwin City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
