Millie Louise Thomas, age 84, of Lula, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord, where she was reunited with her husband and son on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.
Mrs. Thomas was born on March 6, 1939, in Hall County, Georgia, to the late Lee and Ola Simmons Worley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. Johnny Hudson Thomas; son, Jerry Lee Thomas; brothers, Morgan Worley, Lee Worley, Jr., Gordan Worley, Gene Worley, Jackie Worley; and her beloved pet, Noel.
Mrs. Thomas was a long-time member of Belton Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and played the piano. Louise was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing for many people, including making dresses and cheerleading uniforms. She also had a “green thumb” and enjoyed tending to plants and flowers. Her favorite vegetable was Okra. She enjoyed spending time with her family going to eat at Food Factory.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Dianne Thomas, of Cleveland; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Joe Nix, of Charleston, SC; nephew, Bradley Nix; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mildred and Ronnie Loggins, of Lula; niece and caregiver, Kim Moore, of Lula; special niece, Vickie Roper, of Sautee; special great-granddaughter, Ava; and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 1, 2023, at the Belton Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Gillespie officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel.
