Milam Nicholson Wilson Kocica, age 100, of Hollywood, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 11, 2016.
Milam was born on February 25, 1916, to the late Benjamin Hill and Acie Vance Anderson Nicholson. She was also preceded in death by her first husband: Clarence Gordon Wilson; second husband: Joe Kocica; son: Benjamin Clarence Wilson; brothers: Ralph Nicholson and Judson Nicholson; and sister: Dorothy Nicholson. Milam was a substitute teacher at Woodville Elementary. She was the oldest member of the Tallulah Falls School Alumni and an active volunteer at Victory Home. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter: Milam Wheeler; sister: Mary Daisy Giles; brothers: Lloyd Nicholson and Wayne Nicholson; grandchildren: Christin Wilson Henderson, Neida Owens, and Robert Wheeler; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 16, 2016, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Pletsch, Pastor Tony Kemp, and Mr. Joe Nicholson officiating. A reception for family and friends will immediately follow the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
