In a move to bring a community planning and development director to the county, Habersham County Commissioners have hired Mike Beecham, current Director of Community Development in Perry, Georgia. Beecham has held the position in Perry for the last fourteen years.
Beecham was asked how he feels about the move from South Georgia to Habersham County. “I am looking forward to the move with excitement. It is going to be a challenging opportunity,” Beecham told Now Habersham in a recent phone interview.
Beecham received a bachelor’s degree from West Georgia University and earned a master’s degree from Valdosta State University.
Beecham was carefully chosen from two finalists for the position and his selection was recently announced by Phil Sutton, Habersham County Manager. Beecham reports to work in Clarkesville October 5, 2015.
