Each year on Veterans Day the students, staff and faculty at Habersham County’s three public middle schools pour a lot of time, talent and heart into honoring our local veterans. They do such an amazing job, in fact, that local veterans groups intentionally do not schedule their own events so that veterans are available to attend these middle school ceremonies. Also, the middle schools stagger their events so that it’s possible for veterans and the public to attend more than one.
These events are open to the public and if you haven’t attended one, you’re missing out. Don’t miss out again this year!

Tuesday, Nov. 10:
South Habersham Middle School in Cornelia will hold a Veterans Day Celebration on November 10, 2015. The program begins at 9:30 a.m. Refreshments will be served afterwards.

Wednesday, Nov. 11:
Wilbanks Middle School will hold its Veteran’s Day Celebration on November 11, 2015 beginning at 10 a.m. This will be a student led event with poems, essays, skits and more. A reception will follow.

The North Habersham Veteran’s Day celebration will be held on November 11, 2015 at 1 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium. This year’s theme is “Past, Present, and Future.”
