The Middle School Lady Raiders cross country team came home from their region meet for the second consecutive year carrying the first place trophy. The girls team swept league events this year, winning every regular season meet.
The middle school boys cross country team had their best run of the season and finished the meet in fourth place, beating Elbert, Franklin, and Rabun counties.
Abigail Hotard and Audrey Hotard led the girls team, finishing first and second, respectively. Five of the team’s other girls also brought home medals for finishing in the top 20 in a field of 76 runners: Jalyn Purdy (10th), Emmie Kyle (11th), Leah Culpepper (16th), Ansley Means (17th), and Eden Turner (19th).
Two of the Raiders boys team members earned top 20 medals among a field of 119 runners: Dalan James placed 11th and Camden Meads placed 17th.
