ATLANTA – With the conclusion of the 2023 regular season, the Piedmont University men’s soccer team earned the No. 3 seed for the upcoming Collegiate Conference of the South tournament, set to begin in just a few days.
The Lions finished with a regular season conference record of 3-3, picking up a massive win over Belhaven to cap off the season. The win over the Blazers launched them from sixth to third on the last day of competition, finishing behind Covenant and Belhaven.
Historically, Piedmont has won its one and only CCS home playoff game, besting Berea in a come-from-behind victory in last season’s CCS Quarterfinals.
With the No. 3 seed, Piedmont welcomes Maryville to Demorest with a chance for revenge after a regular season loss to the Scots 4-3. The game is set for Wednesday, October 25, and a time has not been announced.
The Wednesday winners will then move on to play the tournament’s top four seeds on Saturday, October 28, in the semifinals.
The winners of both semifinal games will advance to the championship game on Saturday, Nov. 4.
