Melvin Harlan Tullis, age 75, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020.
Born on March 5, 1945, in Habersham County, he was a son of the late Harlan Tullis and Fannie Mae Burgess Tullis. Mr. Tullis was owner and operator of Mt. Airy Pawn. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720. Mr. Tullis attended Mt. Airy Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Tullis; son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Shelley Tullis of Mt. Airy; daughter, Melissa Tullis of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Austin and Zachary Tullis; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Teresa Tullis of Mt. Airy; sisters and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Ronnie Stanich and Eva Mae Tyler; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Monday, December 28, 2020, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Dr. Butch Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery with military honors provided.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at the funeral home.
