MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Brady McGuire’s hat trick was not enough as Piedmont men’s lacrosse suffered an 11-8 loss at Pfeiffer on Saturday afternoon in North Carolina.

McGuire tallied three goals and added two assists on the day to become Piedmont’s all-time leader in career points. However, the Falcons emerged victorious in a hard-fought game.

In the first minute of the game, McGuire broke the Piedmont points record, scoring with 14:08 remaining to make it 1-0 Lions. The game was scoreless until late in the first quarter until the Falcons tied it up and then took the lead on an early second quarter goal.

The second quarter saw both offenses open up as 10 combined goals were scored. Pfeiffer had a 4-0 run late in the period to race ahead to a 7-4 advantage, but Piedmont’s Connor Rogers halted the rally with a goal to make it 7-5 going to the break.

Piedmont was able to close the gap to a single goal multiple times in the third quarter, but were never able to tie the game. Pfeiffer’s defense was stifling in the final period, holding the Lions scoreless and adding a pair of late goals to ice the game.
