DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont University Athletic Department announced Thursday that Jamie McCormack has resigned from her position as head volleyball coach. McCormack’s resignation will take effect before season’s end.

McCormack has led the Lady Lions for eight years. Athletic director Jim Peeples says a search will begin to find her successor.

“As always, we will support our student-athletes to the best of our ability as we navigate the 2024 season and beyond,” says Peeples. “As a department, our responsibility to all our student-athletes is to guide them through their collegiate careers, both on and off the court, and we intend to ensure these student-athletes are supported in every aspect.”

In a press release issued on September 5, the school says McCormack is leaving to pursue “other opportunities outside of collegiate athletics.”

The Lions resume play at Berry on Friday, September 13, for tournament action over the weekend.
