Kevin McConnell will be new the head baseball coach for the Chestatee High School War Eagles. McConnell is a Hall County native and a 2006 graduate from Flowery Branch High School. After high school graduation, McConnell played baseball at Piedmont College.
McConnell began his high school coaching career with three stints as a Varsity Assistant: Rabun County High School (2013-2014), Flowery Branch High School (2014-2016), and North Forsyth High School (2016-2018). He returned to Rabun County in 2018 and served as the Head Coach of the baseball program for one year. He has been an Assistant Varsity Coach at Stephens County since 2019.
“Coach McConnell had a stellar baseball career as a Piedmont Lion,” said Stowers, “and he has been a part of some great north Georgia baseball programs throughout his career. We are excited about his baseball knowledge and his ability to take our program to the next level. However, we are most excited about his desire to reinforce the Chestatee core values of character, courage, and commitment–every day in the classroom and on the field.”
Principal, Suzanne Jarrard said, “Our baseball program has talented players and a strong foundation on which Coach McConnell will continue to build. He is equipped to take our program to the next level, and he will do so while upholding the core values of this community.”
