Maxine Fauscett

Mrs. Maxine Fauscett, age 79, of Gillsville, Georgia, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, surrounded by her children.

The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2023, at the Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Caughman and Reverend Montey Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow at Dunagan Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Maxine was born November 28, 1943, in Gainesville. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Ruby (Leachman) Wallis. Maxine was a graduate of Gainesville High School before working in Atlanta. She later moved back to Gainesville, where she met her husband and became a homemaker. Maxine was a member of Dungan Chapel United Methodist Church for more than 50 years and formerly a member of Central Baptist Church, where she enjoyed being in the choir. She most enjoyed spending time with her family, helping everyone around her, and working with her plants and flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and the love of her life, husband, Aubrey L. Fauscett.

She is survived by her son, Tim Fauscett of Gillsville; daughter and son-in-law Teresa and Craig Love of Gillsville; daughter Tammy Fauscett Murrow of Clermont; grandchildren Josh Love of Athens, Kristin and Elijah Buffington of Gillsville, Alyssa Murrow of Clermont, Eli Murrow of Clermont; great-granddaughter, Harley Ragan; sister Brenda O’Barr of Acworth, sisters-in-law, Joy F. Schaefer and Edith F. Averett; former son-in-law Tony Murrow; special friends, Ann Williams, Connie Gage, Cheryl Nador, Mike Risher and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and loving friends also survive.
