Mason & Mom Challenge makes it to San Francisco

Sometimes it’s the simplest of stories that make the biggest impact. Stories about kindness, generosity and love. Now Habersham shared one such story back in April and it made its way to the west coast.

The online site Police.com picked up our article about The Mason & Mom Cop Challenge. You remember, it’s the story of how South Habersham 8th grader Mason Allison, disturbed by the riots in Baltimore, bought coffee for a local police officer just to say thank you. Mason and his mom Tracy issued a challenge encouraging other’s to show random acts of kindness to cops to let them know they’re appreciated.

An officer in Hall County shared the story with a reporter friend in San Francisco. The reporter called the Allisons and the challenge was issued again. 3 inspiring stories of citizens supporting police

Now, I don’t know how many of you took up the challenge – I hope some of you did and that many more will – but it’s sure nice to see the wide ripple effect of a young boy’s generosity.

Thank you, again, Mason and Mom for showing us we live in a world that still cares.
