Mary Bowling Warwick, beloved wife and mother, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. She was born on July 11, 1950, in Clarkesville, GA, to the late John F. Bowling and Vera Tomlin Bowling.
Mary graduated from North Habersham High School in 1968. She was very active in the marching and concert bands conducted by their beloved Ann Alford (Tina). She played the flute and piccolo, was a band officer, and played in the flute quartet. Her band played at many festivals, including Washington, DC, and Murfreesboro, TN.
Mary was also a member of the Beta Club and enjoyed attending Beta Club conventions. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed riding horses, gardening, camping, and taking trips to the lake and beach. She was also an accountant and a Master Gardener.
Even with all these accomplishments, she loved her family most of all. She married the love of her life, Carter “Butch” Warwick, on January 16, 2004, the same day her parents married in 1931. She is preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Jenny and David Luthi of Athens, GA, and brother-in-law, Herbert Church of Demorest, GA.
She is survived by her husband, Butch Warwick; children: Lori Pulliam (Jon) of Grayson, GA; Heather Davis (Doug) of Athens, GA; Mitzi Honeycutt (Brandon) of Bogart, GA; and Chris Warwick (Beth) of Watkinsville, GA.
She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren who call her Mimi: Jordan Bowman (Luke), Lauren and Joseph Wilson, Luke and Will Davis, Sam, Matthew and Jacob Honeycutt, Carter, Marin, and Ella Warwick; two great-grandchildren: Zuri Anifowoshe and Luca Bowman; sister, Linda Church of Demorest, GA; and a large extended family.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Thursday, December 19, 2024, in Bernstein Funeral Home, 3195 Atlanta Highway, Athens, GA, immediately followed by a memorial service in the funeral home chapel. Those in attendance are invited to a reception following the service in the funeral home.
