Mark Hollars relieved of coaching duties at Commerce

After a 4-year stretch over the Commerce Tigers, coach Mark Hollars has been let go from his post as head football coach. The reason is unclear as to the news, but Commerce City Schools posted the head coaching position on Tuesday, and Hollars has publicly stated he respects the school’s decision to go a different direction.

The news comes in the wake of the 2024 season that saw Commerce be state-ranked in the top-5 while going 8-4 overall and finishing in the 2nd Round and claiming Region Runner-Up status. Overall at Commerce, Hollars went 31-16 from 2021-24, winning a region title (2023) and making the playoffs in each season.

His career to date includes a 61-41 record (.598 win percentage) in 9 seasons between Commerce and North Cobb Christian (2016-20).
