Surviving siblings are Virginia Ruth Vincent, Joseph Rivoire (Olga), Ronald Rivoire, Richard Rivoire (Rosalind), Corless Rivoire (Paul), and Glenn Rivoire (Mona). She has many nieces and nephews.

In 1997, she and Tommy retired to Habersham county, Georgia from metro Atlanta.  Even though Marie was of retirement age, she did not stay retired very long. She soon found a position with Sherwood Clinical in Demorest, Georgia. She delivered patient care supplies and medications until 2010. Charles Sherwood, owner, told David that he had never had a more dependable courier than Marie. She could go somewhere once and never needed directions again, no matter if it was the next day or the next year.

Marie loved fishing, gardening, and cooking for family and friends. Few things made her happier than catching a “mess of fish” and having a big fish fry. Her favorite place to fish was at “the Farm” in Fayetteville, Georgia. The farm belonged to lifelong friends and she and Tommy had a camping trailer permanently set up by the pond. Marie caught her trophy bass there.

Marie had green thumbs on both hands. It seemed that anything Marie poked in the ground would grow. She hardly ever paid attention to rules for proper growing conditions. Roses were her particular favorite.
