Marianne “Tich” (Tichy) Cook

Marianne “Tich” Cook, age 92 of Clarkesville, Georgia went into the arms of Jesus on Monday, February, 6, 2017.

Mrs. Cook was born on August 13, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Ladd Tichy and Helen Keller. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Tichy. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Cook received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and her Master’s Degree in Art Therapy from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She was the founder of The Shiloh House Adult Day Care Center in Dayton, Ohio and stayed there until her retirement. Tich was also known as an accomplished quilter and served with the American Red Cross Disaster Team for several years in Mississippi. Mr. & Mrs. Cook relocated to Habersham County to be with family from Ocean Springs, Mississippi. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Dwight Cook, Clarkesville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law: Bonnie L. and Richard Fellows, Louisville, KY; Deborah L. and Robert Bouchard, Cornelia, GA and Carol A. and David Libbon, Spotsylvania, VA; son and daughter-in-law, David D. and Linda Cook, Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren: Rebecca Woods, Jonathan Fellows, Jason Bouchard, Jennifer Pate, Rosanna Lonzo, Natalie Libbon, Ryan Libbon and Justin Cook; and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tommy Stowe officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 on Thursday
